Precambrian and antediluvian schists, with some narrow granite seams.
Varieties
Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca and Tinta Roriz.
Vinification
Manually harvested, very selectively to ensure full ripeness criteria.
Alcoholic fermentation in temperature controlled stainless steel cubes,
, pelicular maceration followed by malolactic fermentation
Minimum two-year period of ageing before bottling.
Tasting Notes
Closed ruby in colour with violet streaks, red and black fruit aromas deepened by slight notes of vanilla and toast, highly elegant, smooth and persistent.
Alcohol –13,5 % vol.
Gastronomy
Versatile, perfect for meat and game dishes, cheeses and traditional Portuguese food generally.
Recommended temperature between 17º-20°C.
